Noble Gold Investments Review: Fees, Minimums, Custodians, Complaints

Updated October 15, 2026Facts checked against sources on October 15, 2026

The short answer

Noble Gold Investments is a precious metals dealer in Encino, California that sells metals for IRAs and for cash purchase. Its website states a $20,000 IRA minimum, but its pages give two different sets of account fees and name different custodians. These are company statements, and its buy and sell price spread is not published.

Is Noble Gold Investments legitimate, and what does it charge?

"Legitimate" asks for a verdict, which we cannot give for any company. What we can do is show what Noble Gold says about itself, what independent records we could open, and what we could not check. Where we found nothing in a database, we say which one and when. A search that finds nothing proves nothing. Our company research methodology explains the steps.

On fees, Noble Gold's website gives two different answers. Its Gold IRA and Silver IRA pages list a $50 setup fee, a $125 yearly maintenance fee and a $160 yearly storage fee. Its Support page and a "What Is a Gold IRA?" article describe an $80 setup fee and a flat $275 a year ($125 custody plus $150 storage). We found no page explaining the difference. First-year totals come to $335 or $355, before wire, transfer-out or closing charges.

Account fees are only part of the cost. We did not find the gap between what a dealer charges and what it pays when you sell published on the pages we read.

Who is Noble Gold Investments?

According to Noble Gold's website, the company offers Gold IRAs and Silver IRAs, plus direct purchases of gold, silver, platinum and palladium coins and bars. The home page lists an office at 16830 Ventura Blvd, Suite 326, Encino, California, and the phone number 877-646-5347.

The "Who We Are" page says the company "was founded by Collin Plume," its President and CEO, and gives no founding year. It says "For more than a decade" in a CEO message, while the home page claims "More than 20 Years of Helping our Clients Protect their Wealth" without saying what the 20 years counts. Mr. Plume's biography cites "over fifteen years experience in property insurance, commercial real estate, and precious metals investments." We could not confirm any of this independently. The home page also calls the company "America's most trusted precious metals dealer," a marketing phrase we found nothing behind.

The footers of the home page and several other pages carry two disclaimers. One begins "All statements presented in this website are the exclusive opinions of Golden Bull, LLC dba Noble Gold Investments." The other names "NOBLE GOLD, INC." The pages do not explain the difference. The BBB profile, per the screenshots below, lists "Golden Bull, LLC" as an alternate name and an LLC entity type. There may be a simple explanation, but we do not know it. Ask in writing which legal entity will sign your agreements.

How does a Gold IRA with Noble Gold work?

A Gold IRA is a self-directed IRA (Individual Retirement Account) that holds physical metal. Three roles matter: the dealer sells you the metal (here, Noble Gold), the custodian legally holds your IRA and sends the tax forms, and the depository is the vault. Our guide to the custodian, the dealer and the depository explains why this matters, and how a Gold IRA works gives the general walk-through.

Noble Gold's Gold IRA page describes three steps: you open an account and are connected with a custodian, a specialist explains options and the rollover, and you buy metals that ship to an approved depository. The page states that "Most rollovers complete within 5–10 business days with zero taxes or penalties." That is the company's claim. Whether a rollover is tax-free depends on how it is done, so ask a tax professional.

What does Noble Gold say the fees are?

Different pages say different things, so we list both versions.

FeeGold IRA and Silver IRA pagesSupport page and "What Is a Gold IRA?" article
Account setup$50, one time$80, one time
Annual maintenance or custody$125$125 for custodial services
Annual metals storage$160$150, described as segregated storage
Stated yearly totalNot stated; $285 if added up"A flat annual rate of $275"
First-year total, if added up$335$355
Wire transfer$30, one timeNot listed
In-kind distribution$75, one timeNot listed
Account closure$250, one timeNot listed on the Support page; the "What Is a Gold IRA?" article says "there may also be a one-time processing fee," with no amount

The Support page says: "There is a one-time $80 setup fee, followed by a flat annual rate of $275." The "What Is a Gold IRA?" article also says "one-time setup fee of $80" and a "flat annual fee of $150" for storage. The Support page adds that some companies advertise a $160 annual fee, which it says usually refers to commingled storage and which Noble Gold does not recommend. Yet $160 is the number on Noble Gold's own IRA pages. We don't know which figures are current, and the company would need to say.

Two other statements about fees are worth reading carefully.

  • The Gold IRA and Silver IRA pages say that "Noble Gold is the only custodian offering a flat-fee structure," and say the cost stays the same however much the investment is worth. The page calls Noble Gold itself a "custodian," while the Support page names separate outside custodians. We could not check this comparison. Equity Trust's own published schedule (below) lists a flat $125 yearly fee for one precious metals account type.
  • The home page claims "Lowest fees in the industry." No fee table or comparison supports it on that page, and we have not tested it.

Our guides to custodian fees, storage fees and hidden fees explain each cost. Ask Noble Gold in writing which fee set applies today, whether storage is segregated and includes insurance, and for the dollar amounts of the wire, transfer-out and closing fees.

Which custodian does Noble Gold use?

The pages disagree here too. The Gold IRA and Silver IRA pages name no custodian. They say Noble Gold will "connect you with a trusted precious metals IRA custodian." The Support page names several: "your custodian Equity Institutional" for a Gold IRA, "New Direction IRA Services" for a Silver IRA, and, in the answer about moving funds, "Equity Trust IRA, your self-directed IRA custodian." Noble Gold may work with more than one custodian, but the pages do not say. Ask which custodian would hold your account, and ask for its fee schedule and agreement before you commit.

What do the custodians' own pages show?

Equity Trust Company. Its published "Institutional" fee schedule PDF contains a "Flex" schedule (form FS-0004-02, "Rev. 1104625" as printed). It lists a "Precious Metals" account type at $125 a year, a $50 setup fee, a $30 wire fee, $50 per in-kind transfer or distribution, a $250 full termination fee, and metals storage of $160 (segregated) or $110 (non-segregated). A footnote says each depository may charge its own storage fees on top. Another says that if a representative has zero to three accounts, you should see the Institutional Standard Fee Schedule instead. Several figures match Noble Gold's IRA pages ($50, $125, $160, $30, $250), but Noble Gold lists $75 for in-kind distribution and the schedule shows $50. We cannot tell whether this schedule applies to Noble Gold accounts, so this is a similarity, not a finding. Equity Trust says its fees are subject to change.

New Direction IRA. Its home page says physical custody and administrative oversight are provided by First Trust Company of Onaga, Kansas, with regulatory account oversight from the Office of the State Bank Commissioner of Kansas. We could not read its fee schedule, so we have no New Direction figures.

Are these custodians on the IRS list?

The IRS publishes a list of approved nonbank trustees and custodians. We read the full version dated April 1, 2026 and did not find Equity Trust, New Direction, Noble Gold or "Golden Bull." Absence from that list is not by itself a legal conclusion, and we offer none. Our guide on custodian requirements explains what the law asks for. Ask the custodian, in writing, how it qualifies to hold an IRA.

What is the minimum, and who does it leave out?

Noble Gold's pages state two minimums. The Gold IRA page says "Our Gold IRA minimum investment is $20,000," and the Silver IRA page also lists $20,000 for IRAs. The Gold IRA page lists $10,000 for a cash purchase with home delivery. It also says there is "a free consultation with no minimum required to speak with a specialist."

The Support page mentions "Royal Survival Packs," metal packs for cash purchase, in a range "From $5,000 to $500,000." These are not IRA accounts, and we did not see what is in them.

A $20,000 minimum is a large share of savings for some people and a small one for others. We can't tell you which applies to you. Our pages on minimum investment explain how minimums work. A fee-only financial planner or tax professional can help with how much of a retirement account to put into any single kind of asset.

What do you pay for the metal itself?

Besides account fees, there is the gap between what a dealer charges for metal and what it would pay to buy it back. The spot price is the current market price for one troy ounce. A dealer sells above spot (the added amount is the premium or markup) and buys back below it. The difference between selling and buyback prices is the spread. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) says in its customer advisory on buying physical metals: "A dealer will always sell metal above the spot price and buy it back below the spot price." It also says, "If fees are not available in writing before your purchase, that is a red flag," and suggests you "Ask how much you would receive if you had to sell back the metal tomorrow."

Noble Gold's Support page says "We offer a flat fee structure when you acquire the metals from us," with no dollar figure. The Gold IRA page says "At Noble Gold, we offer transparent, competitive pricing with no hidden fees," also without figures. The "What Is a Gold IRA?" article says markups vary and that commissions average "around $40," without saying whether that applies to Noble Gold. We did not find a premium over spot, a spread figure or a sample price sheet. Our guide on dealer premiums, markups and spreads shows how to compare quotes. Ask for the sale price, the spot price at the time of the quote and the current buyback price, in writing, for every product.

One BBB complaint described below concerns this subject: a consumer alleged high undisclosed fees or commission, and the company answered.

What does Noble Gold say about buying back your metals?

The home page says "Lowest fees in the industry and top-rated buyback program." The Support page says the "Buyback program" lets clients liquidate holdings without finding a buyer themselves. We did not find a page with buyback terms: no description of how a repurchase price is set, no timeline, no statement on whether a buyback is guaranteed, and no mention of fees on sale. "Top-rated" is a phrase we could not tie to any rating.

Without terms, we can't say what the program promises. Our guide on buyback policies and liquidation costs explains what a "buyback guarantee" can and cannot promise, and our page on liquidity risk covers the case where you need cash quickly. Ask Noble Gold for its written buyback terms, including who sets the price and what it costs to sell.

Where is the metal stored, and is it insured?

According to Noble Gold's Support page, "Noble Gold has partnered with International Depository Services (IDS)." The same page says storage is segregated (metals held in your name, not pooled), and says IDS has locations in Texas, Delaware and Mississauga, Canada. It also says the assets are insured under an that "Your assets guarded by IDS are insured through an all-risk policy underwritten by Lloyd's of London."

A separate page, "Secure Texas Depository," says Noble Gold "secured a partnership with IDS (International Depository Services) in Dallas." That page also states that "Noble Gold is the only company that stores gold in Texas" and calls the facility "the first and only, private secure gold depository facility in the south." We did not check these marketing claims. The page gives no fee, insurance or audit details, and the sentence describes a "partnership with IDS" in Dallas without saying in so many words that IDS operates the facility. We do not know whether other depositories play any part in Noble Gold accounts. Equity Trust's precious metals client page lists International Depository Services among the depositories its clients can choose from.

The Home Delivery page lists "Noble Fortress" locations of International Depository Services in New Castle, Delaware, and Dallas, Texas, and of International Depository Services of Canada in Mississauga, Ontario. In a separate sentence about cash purchases, it says "Your Royal Survival Pack is sent to a trusted, fully insured storage facility through our secure process." That sentence does not name the insurer or limits, and we do not read it as a general statement about IRA storage.

We could not open the depository's own website, so we could not confirm any of this from the depository itself. Our guides to IRA metals insurance and segregated and commingled storage list what to ask for. Equity Trust's schedule lists different prices for segregated and non-segregated storage, so ask which one you would have and what each is billed at.

What about home delivery and the website terms?

The Home Delivery page describes shipping through "Noble Express," which it calls "fully insured," with delivery in about five business days. The Terms & Conditions page has a delivery section saying that if the company determines an item was lost or stolen in transit, it may refund the full purchase price or replace the item, and that this is the customer's "sole and exclusive remedy." The same section says an order "may not be shipped until forty-five (45) business days after receipt of good funds," which it ties to market conditions and metal availability. One sentence in that section names a different dealer: "Goldco shall make reasonable efforts ship metals within five to fourteen (5-14) business days after receipt of good funds." The page's testimonials section also refers to "goldco.com": "The testimonials presented on goldco.com are applicable to the individuals writing them." The page does not explain either reference. Read the terms before you rely on them. We have a separate Goldco review.

The Terms page contains no arbitration clause, class action waiver, governing-law clause, venue clause or limitation period. These website terms are not the sales agreement. The BBB complaints below mention a "Shipping and Transaction Agreement," which we did not see. Ask for it before you send any money. We are not lawyers, and none of this is legal advice.

What does Noble Gold say about reviews and awards?

The home page reports review counts, which we list as the company shows them.

PlatformWhat Noble Gold's home page reportsDate shown

Retirement savings"Over $2.5 Billion in Retirement Savings Secured"None

We could not verify the 16,000 or $2.5 billion figures, and the page does not say how they are counted. The home page's BBB number (265+) differs from the 241 BBB customer reviews in the screenshots described below. They may count different things or be from different dates, and we draw no conclusion.

The "Client Reviews" page shows 12 testimonials from named reviewers, with no ratings, dates, selection method or statement about whether reviewers were compensated. The "In the News" page lists seven items, some dated 2021 and 2023; some linked Forbes addresses carry 2018 dates, so displayed dates may not be publication dates. No item is marked sponsored or as an award, and we did not open those publishers' pages. The home page also shows "As Featured In" logos and trust badges, which do not tell you what an outlet said.

All of this is self-reported. These are not ratings from us; we do not score companies. Our guides on how review sites make money and fake and incentivized reviews explain how to read them.

What does Noble Gold's BBB profile show?

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is a nonprofit that publishes business profiles, customer reviews and complaint records. We could not open BBB's pages. The details below come from screenshots of Noble Gold's BBB pages that the owner of this site viewed on October 15, 2026. We treat these as unverified beyond what the screenshots show. The newest review visible in the screenshots is dated 09/27/2026.

The "About This Business" text is written by the company: "We aim to give our clients a safe and easy way to buy precious metals, offering friendliness, honesty and an in-depth understanding of how to increase investment value for them." The profile also carries a company-supplied notice that consumers may file a BBB complaint at any time or contact Noble Gold's customer service at ClientSolutions@NobleIRA.com or 877.646.5347. The licensing box showed only generic BBB text and no license number.

The 4.98 figure is an average of BBB customer reviews. It is not BBB's rating. The ten newest reviews visible, dated 07/17/2026 to 09/27/2026, were all five stars, and Noble Gold had replied to each. Those ten are not a sample of all 241, so we draw no conclusions from them.

What are the three BBB complaints?

BBB's page says the complaint text shown might not represent all complaints filed, that some consumers choose not to publish details, and that BBB may display only a portion of complaints when volume is high. Complaints are consumers' allegations, and business responses are the company's statements. The screenshots show no judgment or order.

FiledTypeStatusWhat the screenshots show
02/16/2026Product IssuesResolvedThe consumer alleged concerns about the authenticity or purity of silver rounds and coins received, described a magnet test, and made a request related to a shipping and transaction agreement. A "Customer Answer" dated 02/23/2026 says the consumer, after further research, was satisfied the silver is pure but still unhappy with the purchase. No business response is visible in the screenshot.
07/23/2025Billing IssuesAnsweredThe consumer alleged high undisclosed fees or commission on purchase and buy-back compared with the spot price. Noble Gold responded on 07/29/2025 that its role is to facilitate purchases, that it charges no custodial or hidden fees, that the Shipping and Transaction Agreement explains pricing, and that spreads vary. The consumer answered on 07/31/2025, rejecting the response and asking questions. Noble Gold's second response on 08/06/2025 says its CEO contacted the consumer, that the consumer acknowledged understanding the commission structure and that Noble Gold had not charged the fees originally referenced, and that the company considers the matter fully addressed and resolved.
12/08/2023Customer Service IssuesAnsweredThe consumer alleged being told they would not owe taxes, and then told otherwise. Noble Gold responded on 12/14/2023 that it found no communication matching the claim and cited a minimum-amount rule for sales-tax exemption. The consumer answered on 12/19/2023, rejecting the response, and Noble Gold replied the same day with its stated thresholds.

For the second complaint, everything after the allegation is the company's account, which we cannot confirm. For the third, we do not repeat the thresholds in the company's reply because we did not verify them; a tax professional can say what applies to you.

Three complaints in three years is a count of what BBB shows, not a measure of how many customers were satisfied or unhappy.

What public records did we check?

Our methodology lists the records we look for on every company. Here is what happened for Noble Gold on 2026-10-15, including what we could not do.

FINRA BrokerCheck, SEC EDGAR, NFA BASIC, state regulators, PACER, state courtsNot searchedNot checked

Two cautions. A zero in the CFPB database means no complaint under that name appeared there that day. And a general web search is not a search of a court docket or regulator record, so finding nothing does not prove nothing exists. We make no claim that Noble Gold has or has not been the subject of a lawsuit or regulatory action beyond what is described here. Our guide on how to verify a dealer walks through the checks you can run yourself.

What should you ask Noble Gold before you sign anything?

These questions come from regulators' advice and from the gaps we found. Ask for answers in writing.

  1. What are the sale price, spot price and buyback price for each product I am quoted? Ask for all three together.
  2. Which fee schedule applies to my account, the $50/$125/$160 version or the $80/$275 version? Ask for it with its date.
  3. Which custodian holds my account, and how does it qualify to hold an IRA?
  4. Which depository holds my metals, is storage segregated, and what are the insurance terms? Ask for the depository's own documents.
  5. What are the written buyback terms, and what does it cost to sell?
  6. Which legal entity am I contracting with? The site names "Golden Bull, LLC dba Noble Gold Investments" and "NOBLE GOLD, INC."
  7. What are my cancellation rights, and how are disputes handled? We found no cancellation policy on the website terms.
  8. How are your specialists paid? The CFTC suggests asking this directly.
  9. May I see the Shipping and Transaction Agreement before I send money?

Our full checklist is in the guide on how to evaluate a Gold IRA company.

What are the risks that apply no matter which company you pick?

No dealer, custodian or depository removes the basic risks of physical metal. Prices go up and down; see price volatility. Noble Gold's own site says it "makes no representations or guarantees that metals purchased will appreciate in value." You can only sell at a dealer's buyback price or to another buyer. Counterparty risk is the chance a company you rely on fails to do its part. We do not predict prices.

How does this compare with other companies?

We publish every company review on the same set of fields so you can read them side by side, and we do not rank them. If you want to compare, our Augusta Precious Metals review and Goldco review use the same structure, as will our planned reviews of American Hartford Gold and Advantage Gold. Side-by-side pages are planned, including Augusta Precious Metals vs Noble Gold Investments and Goldco vs Noble Gold Investments. For the wider picture, start at Gold IRA Companies Compared.

How was this page researched, and when will it be updated?

On October 15, 2026 we opened Noble Gold's home, Gold IRA, Silver IRA, Support, "What Is a Gold IRA?," Secure Texas Depository, Home Delivery, Who We Are, Client Reviews, In the News and Terms & Conditions pages, plus Equity Trust's Institutional fee schedule and client page, New Direction IRA's home page, the IRS list of approved nonbank trustees, the CFTC advisory and the CFPB complaint database. We reviewed screenshots of the BBB pages. We could not open the depository's own website, New Direction's fee schedule or BBB. Anything that came only from Noble Gold is written as its statement, and we left out facts we could not confirm.
